Jonathan graduated from ISTI (Institut Supérieur de Traducteurs et Interprètes in Brussels, Belgium), one of Europe’s leading translation and interpreting schools, with a degree in translation in 2004. He is a trained interpreter, a specialist in multimedia translation and a certified European Excellence Award Assessor.
After university, Jonathan worked as a localisation engineer for a major software development, testing and localisation company in China, while managing a Western language business and resource development project.
In 2006, Jonathan returned to Brussels, the heart of the European Union, to work as a registered freelance translator for many of the world’s largest translation companies and as a journalist for several Belgian press agencies before founding TWIS in 2010 in Hong Kong, China.
Jonathan has always firmly believed that a translation company’s main asset is its staff and that internal reviews and reduced outsourcing are key to quality translations.
Fun fact: Jonathan also holds a degree in sound engineering and electronic music production! In his spare time, he practises yoga, plays table tennis, produces music and performs as a DJ.

Wenjia holds a degree in translation and interpreting from the China-based School of Languages and Translation (ESLT) at Macao Polytechnic University. She moved to Beijing in 2006 to continue her studies, joining the Advanced Translator/Interpreter Training Programme at the Graduate School of Translation and Interpretation at Beijing Foreign Studies University (BFSU).
After graduating, Wenjia worked as a freelance Chinese-English translator for major Western and Asian translation agencies and for the OCDE as a Chinese international exam translation reviewer, before joining TWIS in 2008. In her spare time, Wenjia enjoys yoga, dance and skateboarding and is a keen traveler.
A quiet yet powerful presence, she works hard behind the scenes to guide the company in the right direction.
Having graduated from ISTI (Institut Supérieur de Traducteurs et Interprètes in Brussels, Belgium) with degrees in translation, project management and multimedia localisation in 2004 and 2005, Sarah began her career in the translation industry as a translator and project manager for a renowned international translation company before becoming a freelance translator and project manager.
She later founded her own translation agency, One2Trans (now BE Translations SARL) in 2011, before joining TWIS in 2015 to help the agency to develop a network of trustworthy freelance professionals. Sarah excels in developing close and long-lasting working relationships with our clients and service providers.
With years of experience within the translation industry, particularly in project management and machine translation, she ensures that we provide our clients with the very best solutions and services to meet their needs. She has particular expertise in analysing machine translation projects and creating the related processes, a field she teaches at the University of Lille in France to students pursuing a Master’s degree in specialised multilingual translation. She is committed to educating new generations of linguists, acting as a mentor and welcoming a new intake of interns every year.
A dynamic figure who brings the team together, recognises talent and devises the best technical solutions.
Quentin’s career began with an internship in translation and project management as part of his Master’s degree in specialised multilingual translation at the University of Lille in France. Since he graduated in 2017, he has proven himself as a reliable team member.
His first role at TWIS was focused on client communication; today, he is Operations Manager, overseeing day-to-day activities and general communications with clients and service providers. From initial account analysis and team selection to rate negotiations, he’s one of the primary points of contact for any new opportunity.
As a lecturer in MTPE for the University of Lille's Master's degree in specialised multilingual translation at the University of Lille, he has in-depth knowledge of machine translation post-editing and processes, sharing his expertise with a combination of practical exercises and market insights.
A gentle soul who calmly handles everything with genuine composure, always finding the right solution – even in the most stressful situations.
Mathilde joined TWIS in 2021 as an intern while studying for a Master’s degree in specialised multilingual translation at the University of Lille, before deciding to stay on as a full-time project manager. Loyal and flexible, she’s a real team player!
Her exhaustive knowledge of every aspect of a project helps her to anticipate potential issues, providing our clients with top-notch service while developing close working relationships with service providers.

After training and working as an accountant, Chris decided to change careers and moved to translation project management in 2022. Having completed a comprehensive training course with TWIS, he has quickly acquired the required skills and mindset. With his eagle eye, he spots areas for improvement in our processes and his insights as an “outsider” provide a genuinely new perspective.
The definition of versatility – as an accountant, a project manager, a dog groomer and even a landscape worker, he has incredibly wide-ranging skills.
Resourceful and dynamic, Johan is a skilled project manager with comprehensive experience in a range of translation and localisation services. He brings a wealth of marketing expertise to his role, creating effective marketing campaigns and enhancing TWIS’ visibility and client engagement.
He has in-depth knowledge of AI solutions and social media, leveraging cutting-edge technologies and platforms to optimise our operations and our reach. With his versatile skills and creative mindset, he is always ready to rise to the challenge.
Johan has a wide range of interests outside work, from botany to gourmet cooking and cryptocurrencies, and always enjoys experiences which broaden his horizons and inspire creativity.

After graduating in 2019 with a Master’s degree in translation and project management from the University of Lille, Nicolas has put his analytical skills to use to overcome the linguistic and technical challenges of his role. With his considerable IT skills, he has developed internal solutions and processes which are now used by the team every day. Curious and multitalented, he’s always eager to learn and try new things, something which inspires him to find creative solutions to our clients’ challenges.

Félix holds a Master’s degree in English and started out as an English lecturer before working as a freelance translator and linguist at Pro Lingua Consultants, the one-man agency he founded in 1999. Félix was one of the first translators to join the team at TWIS in 2008; having demonstrated his passion for his work, he went on to become a project manager for TWIS.
A real sage – as the oldest member of our team, Félix guides his colleagues with his long-standing experience and impressive wisdom.
